How to Play Werewolves

6–24 players + a narrator

Goal

The village hides a pack of werewolves. The villagers win when every werewolf is gone; the werewolves win the moment they equal or outnumber the villagers. A few special roles chase a victory all their own.

Roles & the narrator

Everyone is secretly dealt a role. The host narrates — holding no card, seeing everything — and runs the night and day out loud. No host to spare? Turn on the automatic narrator and the app walks the script on a clock. Tap the roles guide for what each card can do.

Night

The village falls asleep and every phone goes quiet. One by one the narrator wakes the roles that act at night — the werewolves agree on a victim, the Seer inspects a card, the Witch may heal or poison — then the village wakes again.

Day

The narrator announces who did not survive the night. The living debate who might be a werewolf and then vote. The player with the most votes is eliminated; their card is turned face up, or kept secret, depending on the room’s settings.

Round after round

Night and day alternate. Each morning the village is smaller and the clues are sharper. Bluff, read the room and protect your side — the villagers hunt the wolves, the wolves stay hidden.

Winning

Play continues until one side is left standing: the village clears out every werewolf, the pack takes over the village, or a lone role — like the Lovers or the Piper — pulls off an ending of their own.
