How to Play Dominoes
2 to 4 players · 28 tiles (double six) · 7 each, the rest in the stock
Goal
Be the first to 100 points. You score by going out — laying your last tile — or by holding the fewest pips when the game is blocked.
The start
Everyone gets 7 tiles; the rest are the stock. The first hand of a match opens with the highest double (6-6, else 5-5, …), or the highest tile if nobody has a double. After that the lead passes to the next player, who may open with any tile.
Your turn
Lay a tile with a matching number at either end of the line. If you can't, you draw from the stock until you can — it happens by itself. When the stock is empty and you still can't play, you pass.
Ending a hand
Whoever goes out wins the hand and scores the pips left in every other hand. If nobody can play, the game is blocked: the player with the fewest pips wins and scores everyone else's; a tie for fewest scores nothing.
Bonuses
Capicua: going out with a tile, not a double, that fitted both ends earns +25. Every player who has to pass right after your tile earns you +20.
Five doubles
Dealt five doubles or more? You may have the hand dealt again before it starts.
Scoring
The match ends when someone reaches 100 and leads alone. Matches between accounts count for the Dominoes rating; with a bot they are practice. A new player joins when the match is over.
